Management

UNX is lead by a management team with extensive experience in strategic trading, software design and market structure.

Scott Harrison, Chief Executive Officer, President
As Chief Executive Officer and President of UNX, Scott Harrison is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm, including all operating and support groups. Mr. Harrison is also a member of UNX's Board of Directors, and serves as co-Chairman of the firm's Operating Committee. Prior to his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Harrison served UNX as Chief Operating Officer.

Before joining UNX, Mr. Harrison acquired more than 12 years of senior level management, sales, and technology experience at Investment Technology Group, Inc. (ITG). In his most recent role at ITG, Mr. Harrison was a Director of Global Trading Products in charge of expanding the company's trading applications and algorithmic services into global markets. Before that, he held several positions at ITG, one of which was Director of Product Management for the firm's equity trading products. In this role he oversaw the management and development of ITG's Triton and QuantEX product lines.

Prior to his career in finance, Mr. Harrison was an accomplished architect working for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), one of the foremost architectural firms in the world. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University.

Brady Ballentine, Managing Director, Brokerage Operations and Product Development
Brady oversees the product design, delivery and support teams at UNX, including Product Development, Technical Sales, Electronic Trading Services and Brokerage Operations. Prior to joining the company, Brady provided project management and consulting services as a principal with a boutique accounting and consulting firm, and as a senior consultant with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting. Brady is a graduate of Butler University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance.

Leslie Boni, Managing Director, Quantitative Strategies and Performance Analytics
Leslie is head of Quantitative Strategies and Performance Analytics at UNX. Prior to working at UNX, Leslie served as a visiting academic scholar at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a finance professor at the University of New Mexico, and as a lecturer at the University of Southern California. Her research has been published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis; the Journal of Financial Markets; the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking; the Financial Analysts Journal; and she has authored several Brookings Institute Papers on Financial Services. Prior to earning a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, she worked for 15 years in the oil industry as chemical engineer, trader, risk manager, and consultant. Leslie also holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University.

Jay Hatho, Managing Director, Engineering
Jay oversees the product engineering team at UNX. Working closely with the product development group, Jay is responsible for building and delivering the UNX technology products. Prior to joining the company, Jay was director of engineering and a program manager at Compaq Computer Corporation for over five years. Jay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from California State University at Fullerton.

Jonathan Rose, Director, Technology Operations
Jonathan oversees the technology platforms for trading and business operations at UNX. Previously, he served as director of technology at Epoch Partners, a technology focused investment bank, where he was responsible for the development and operation of the firm's systems infrastructure to support banking, research and trading platforms. After the acquisition of Epoch Partners by Goldman, Sachs & Co., Jonathan held the title of vice president for the Epoch Equities Technology group at Goldman Sachs, and led the efforts to integrate Epoch's technology into the Goldman Sachs infrastructure. Prior to Epoch Partners, Jonathan spent nine years at Charles Schwab & Co., where he held a variety of technical and management positions across a number of technology disciplines, including management of the firm's corporate technical infrastructure.

Stephen Squire, General Counsel
Stephen is responsible for the firm's Legal and Compliance Department, overseeing all corporate and regulatory issues. Mr. Squire has over 15 years of experience in the regulatory area of the securities industry, both on the regulation side as well as working for broker/dealers and registered investment advisors in the head legal-compliance role. He is a member of the California Bar.

Guy Woelk, Chief Financial Officer
Guy is a seasoned financial, administrative and compliance executive with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry as a chief financial and administrative officer for Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc.

Guy served on the NASDR District 10 Business conduct committee and as treasurer of the Security Industry Association's New York chapter, and holds a CPA certificate. He has an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, and post-graduate work in Accounting at the University of Texas.

Board of Directors

The UNX Board of Directors is comprised of professionals with experience at some of the world's most respected businesses and academic institutions.

André Perold, Chairman of the Board, UNX Holdings, Inc.
André is the George Gund Professor of Finance and Banking at the Harvard Business School. He presently serves as the Senior Associate Dean, Director of Faculty Recruiting; and he previously served as Chair of the Finance Faculty and Director of Research. He teaches courses in investment management and capital markets in the MBA program, where he has won a number of teaching awards. He also teaches in a variety of executive education programs.

André's research is currently focused on questions relating to stock market structure and liquidity, risk management and capital allocation within financial firms and hedge funds, and implementation costs within investment organizations. He has authored numerous articles and case studies, and he is co-author of the books, The Global Financial System: A Functional Perspective and Cases in Financial Engineering: Studies of Applied Financial Innovation. André is particularly well-known for his pioneering work on the measurement of transaction costs (the "implementation shortfall") and for the development of new approaches for managing investment portfolios. He is the developer of a widely-used algorithm for portfolio construction.

André presently serves on the editorial board of the Financial Analysts Journal. He is also a director, trustee and advisory board member of a variety of investment and other organizations.

Matt Michelsen, Vice Chairman of the Board, UNX, Inc.
Matt Michelsen is Vice Chairman of UNX, Inc. Previously, he was founder and principal of Embarcadero Securities, which merged with UNX in May 2002. Matt brings a decade of experience working in the hedge fund community and is instrumental in new business development opportunities for UNX.

A former paratrooper in the United States Army Airborne Division, Matt currently serves on the National Board of Trustees for the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and volunteers his time to a number of other philanthropic organizations. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Michael Dura
Mr. Dura, a 25 year veteran of the financial services industry, has held senior management and operations positions at a number of leading financial institutions. He held the positions of Chief Operating Officer; Managing Director- Head of Equity Research, Sales & Trading; and Joint Group Managing Director at Schroder & Co. Inc., where he was the senior officer with operating responsibility for the North America & European securities business as well as Chairman of the Operating Committee. Mr. Dura was President of Correspondent Services Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of UBS Financial, which was acquired by National Financial Services, a Fidelity Investments company. He was also a member of the NASD National Advisory Board in 1996.

Don N. Aquilano, Managing Director, Gazelle TechVentures
Don Aquilano is a managing director at Gazelle TechVentures, where he oversees a portfolio of businesses in the financial services and technology industries.

Mr. Aquilano is a member of the Indiana Technology Partnership and is a director at Rubicon Technology, Inc., and freightPro. Prior to working at Gazelle, he was a principal at the Fox Group, a venture capital and management consulting company; manager of strategy for the Americas and Caribbean at Guinness PLC (Diageo PLC); and a strategy consultant at the Boston Group. Additionally, Mr. Aquilano held various technology operations management positions in the Circuit Technology Group at Hewlett Packard Corporation.

He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, with a focus in technology, production and operations, and a BS from the University of Arizona, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Robert M. Belke, CFA, Principal, Lovell Minnick Partners
Robert is a Principal of Lovell Minnick Partners ("LMP"), an independent private equity firm providing buyout and growth capital to developing companies in the global financial services industry. From offices in Los Angeles and New York, LMP manages partnerships totaling over $250 million for qualified private and institutional investors. Robert joined LMP in 2000 and led the due diligence and analysis efforts for investments in UNX, Centurion Group Inc., Westcap Investors LLC, and Duff & Phelps LLC. Prior to joining LMP, Robert was an Associate in the Private Equity Group at TIAA-CREF where he completed ten private equity transactions totaling $85 million across a broad range of industries. His experience in private equity ranges from venture capital investing in technology companies, to investing in middle-market leveraged buyout transactions. Prior to TIAA-CREF, Robert was a Senior Analyst at Wilshire Associates where he was responsible for assisting portfolio managers in their use of analytical portfolio management tools.

Robert received an MBA with honors in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Wisconsin. Robert is also a member of the Boards of Directors of Denali Advisors and Duff & Phelps.

Bob Donovan, Former CEO, Instinet Clearing Corp.
With over 35 years of experience at leading financial services companies, Bob is an industry veteran. As the former CEO of Instinet Clearing Corp., he was responsible for the firm's operations and strategic development worldwide. Prior to joining Instinet, Bob spent 21 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., serving as Senior Vice President of clearance and settlement. There, he played a major role in growing the company's global operational capabilities for equities, fixed income, prime brokerage, stock loans, and customer service. Bob was instrumental in developing Goldman's East Asia operations, helping to open the firm's Tokyo office in the mid-eighties. Bob's deep knowledge of financial service operations extends to an additional 11 years of experience as Director of Operations for the broker-dealer and asset management divisions of Legg Mason, where he led an operations team overseeing 120 branches with 1,200 financial advisors. Bob also served as a member of the board of directors of Legg Mason Wood Walker, the broker-dealer subsidiary of Legg Mason.

Complementing this breadth of business experience, Bob has been involved in a number of industry initiatives, including membership on the Board of Mortgage Backed Securities Clearance Corp., the Options Clearing Corp. Roundtable Committee, and the NYSE Arbitration Committee.
